Richards Students Jump into the Record Books
About 700 students take part in National Geographic for Kids' initiative to set world record for most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period.
About 700 students from Richards Elementary School are hoping to help National Geographic Kids magazine set the Guinness World Records title for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period Tuesday afternoon. To break the record, more than 20,000 people worldwide need to complete one minute of jumping jacks in events occurring between 3 p.m. Oct. 11 and 3 p.m. Oct. 12. The jumping jack world record effort is part of First Lady Michelle Obamaβs Letβs Move! campaign, which encourages kids and families to get healthy and active. Obama led 400 students in one minute of jumping jacks on the White House lawn Tuesday.
