We Energies spokesman Brian Manthey said the specific cause of the outage is still under investigation after one hour, but the likely culprit is strong winds that knocked down power lines and tree limbs tangled up in power lines.

Manthey said some reports came in about thunder causing power outages, but he said he does not believe that is much of a problem.
