WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A car reported stolen out of Milwaukee crashed head-on into an SUV on Lake Drive Friday afternoon, causing injuries to both people in the SUV and leading to the arrest of the sedan's driver on the bluffs of Lake Michigan, according to statements and logs from the Whitefish Bay Police Department.

The incident began with a Shorewood police chase. Someone reported three vehicles to be connected with a vehicle break-in near the 1700 block of Beverly Road around 2 p.m., police said. A Shorewood officer saw the vehicles and began pursuing two of them, the Toyota and a Hyundai, according to a statement posted on Facebook by Whitefish Bay police.

The two vehicles split up and the Shorewood officer followed the Hyundai west until it crashed into a parked car in the 800 block of Glendale Avenue, police said. Two people got out of the Hyundai and fled, but officers arrested both in the 4800 block of Sheffield Avenue, according to police.
