SUV Driver Crashes Into 'Whitefish Bay' Sign: Police

Police said they found the SUV abandoned on the 4800 block of N. Berkeley Blvd.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI β€” Authorities in Whitefish Bay say they're working on tracking down the person responsible for driving their vehicle into a Whitefish Bay sign earlier this month.

According to Whitefish Bay police, officers were sent to the 300 block of E. Hampton Road at just after 3 a.m. on Feb. 23 on a report that the driver of a black SUV crashed into the Village of Whitefish Bay brick sign, resulting in heavy damage to the sign.

Police said they found the SUV abandoned on the 4800 block of N. Berkeley Blvd. Police said that attempts were made to contact the vehicle's registered owner, to no avail. Police said the SUV was towed to Leader Towing, and that officers were following up on the case.
