Vehicle Stolen On Berkeley + Car Entered On Hampton: Police

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — A vehicle was stolen from the 5000 block of Berkeley Boulevard at some point between 10 p.m. Sunday and early Monday morning, Whitefish Bay police said in a newsletter Monday.

Police Arrest Man in Stolen Car After Pursuit

Police arrested a man early Sunday morning after they saw him driving through Whitefish Bay in a car that was reported stolen out of Waukesha. Police had spotted the Hyundai, plus another that was also reported stolen, near Lake View Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue around 3 a.m. on Sunday, logs said.

Police started to pursue the cars, logs said, and eventually one of the cars stopped on the 100 block of Belle Avenue. The driver ran away from the car and police arrested him, police logs say.

The driver was charged with fleeing an officer, operating a vehicle without the owner's consent and resisting arrest, logs say. The car was reported stolen out of Waukesha.

The other Hyundai that police spotted, which was reported stolen out of West Allis, managed to get away, logs said.

Sunglasses Stolen From Car In Driveway

Prescription sunglasses valued in the hundreds of dollars were stolen from an unlocked car parked in a driveway on the 1800 block of Hampton Road around 11 a.m. on March 16, police logs say.

A car had backed into the driveway before the passenger got out to enter the victim's car, logs said
