Vigilant Woman Reported Sex Offender At Klode Park: Report
Police say a concerned citizen saw a suspicious vehicle and memorized the truck's license plate number before talking with police.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI — The other day, Whitefish Bay Patch reported that a 60-year-old Whitefish Bay man who was convicted of possessing child pornography was arrested after he reportedly violated the terms of his probation by repeatedly visiting a local park.
On Friday, Whitefish Bay Police said that the case against David Pitel, who was accused of hanging around Klode Park in violation of his probation, came together because of an astute citizen's actions.
Police said a woman, who was walking in the area of Big Bay Park, on Sept. 11, approached an officer, saying she saw a shirtless man sitting in his truck in the parking lot at Klode Park at different times of the day over the previous three days.

Police say the woman memorized the truck’s license plate number. The officer ran this license plate number and discovered it was Pitel’s vehicle. Officers closely monitored the park and saw him back at the park on Sept. 13. He was then arrested. As part of the terms of Pitel's probation, he's not allowed in areas where children would inhabit or play, such as schools or park areas.
