Whitefish Bay Businesses Recognized at Awards Event

Whitefish Bay business owners celebrated a year of achievement and 15 new businesses at an annual awards ceremony Thursday night at .

The Whitefish Bay Business Improvement District honored four businesses in particular for their contributions to the business community.

Linda Gumieny of Boutique Photographer, a new photography business located above , was honored with a Commitment to Community award for collaborating with the BID and taking photos at business events free of charge. PNC Bank, which opened this year in a new building at Lydell Avenue and Silver Spring Drive, also received the Commitment to the Community Award.

The "Treasure of the Bay" award went to Tom Harris, who grew up in Whitefish Bay, is active in the community at large and owns two businesses, and .

The President's Award for Outstanding Business was bestowed upon of Whitefish Bay. Whitefish Bay BID President John Stuhlmacher presented the awards, and recognized the Whitefish Bay-based grocer for evolving into a landmark not only in the district, but in Wisconsin as a whole.

"We are honored to have so many establishments that are actively involved in BID events," Stuhlmacher said.

The ceremony recognized over a dozen new businesses in the district, including Boutique Photographer, , , , , , , , Caraflow, Teklynx, , Sunset Massage, Cutters Barbershop and High Brow Waxing Boutique.
