WHITEFISH BAY, WI — The Village of Whitefish Bay's Holiday Stroll Parade scheduled to take place Friday is canceled in light of the recent tragic events in Waukesha, the Merchants of Whitefish Bay announced Tuesday in a Facebook post.

Five people were killed and at least 48 others were injured in Waukesha on Sunday when an SUV broke through barricades and rammed participants in the City's Christmas Parade.

"The Whitefish Bay Business Improvement District (BID) is deeply saddened by the events in Waukesha and, out of respect for our grieving community, unanimously made this decision," the Facebook post read.
