Whitefish Bay Police Arrest Man On Attempted Burglary Charge

Police said they were able to track down the suspect after the home's owner shared four videos from his Ring doorbell camera.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI β€” Authorities in Whitefish Bay say they've arrested a man responsible for an attempted burglary in the 5200 block of N. Lydell Ave.

According to Whitefish Bay police call logs, an officer on patrol just after 3 p.m. on Feb. 11 was sent to the home where the home's owner shared four videos from his Ring door bell camera. Police said the videos showed a man in his 50s wearing a red jacket and torn jeans ringing his front doorbell and turning the door knob.

Police said the man then moved to the south side and out of sight. Police said a couple minutes later, the man was seen running back through the yard and then walking north on the sidewalk.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Milwaukee County, 51-year-old Jeffrey C. Day was arrested and charged with attempted burglary related to the Feb. 11 incident in Whitefish Bay.
