Glendale Police Report Sex Assault On Oak Leaf Trail

Police in Glendale say they're stepping up patrols in the Oak Leaf trail area after an apparent sexual assault happened early Friday.

WHITEFISH BAY, WI β€” Police in Glendale say they're stepping up patrols in the Oak Leaf trail area after an apparent sexual assault happened early Friday. Police are asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect.

Glendale police say that about 6:45 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, an officer on patrol learned of an inappropriate-touching incident that happened Oak Leaf Trail, specifically as the trail crosses over W. Marne Ave. and N. Port Washington Road in Glendale.

Police said the victim was a woman who was walking on the trail. She told police that a man who was also walking on the trail, approached her from behind and touched her inappropriately.

According to police, the suspect was a white man, between 20-25 years old who stood about six feet tall. Police said he was of a medium build, may have had a mustache, and was last seen wearing a red and gray winter hat, a gray puffy winter jacket, and possibly blue jeans.

Glendale police are asking members of the public that if they have any information about this incident, to please contact the department at 414-228-1753.

  • Use well-lit areas and well-traveled routes.
  • Carry a cellular phone with you.
  • Consider downloading an app to track your route.
  • Always know your location.
  • Trust your instincts. If it does not seem β€˜right’, it is likely not β€˜right’.
  • Walk in pairs rather than alone. If a partner is not available, let someone know that you are planning to walk and the route you intend to travel.
  • Change your walking route to avoid someone knowing your routine.
  • Call 911 in an emergency.
