$10K Reward Offered In Case Of Escaped Alabama Inmate: U.S. Marshals

Casey White and correctional officer Vicky White, who are unrelated, are both still missing after disappearing Friday morning.

FLORENCE, AL —A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered by U.S. Marshals for information leading to the capture of an escaped inmate from Lauderdale County Jail on Friday as well as the location of a missing correctional officer who disappeared with him and is considered endangered.

As previously reported by Patch, Cole Casey White escaped sometime after Vicky White, assistant director of corrections with Lauderdale County, left the detention center with him Friday morning. Neither of the pair, who are not related, has been seen since.

Casey White, 38, is charged with two counts of capital murder stemming from a 2020 stabbing and is currently in prison on convictions for home invasion, carjackings and a police chase, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. White was awaiting trial on the 2020 murder charges.

The U.S. Marshals have taken over the case in attempting to find both Casey White and Vicky White.

Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said the department was surprised by the incident and told reporters that it was "possible" Vicky White was an accomplice in Casey White's escape. Singleton told news outlets that Vicky White had turned in her retirement papers the day before she went missing.
