Alabama Has 3rd Slowest Recovery Rate From COVID-19: Study

A recent study shows Alabama as one of the states with the slowest recovery rate from the COVID-19 pandemic.

MONTGOMERY, AL — With the lowest vaccination rate and lingering unemployment, Alabama ranks among the states with the slowest recovery rate from the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a recent study.

The personal finance website WalletHub released a study that shows Alabama with the 3rd lowest recovery rate in the country.

To identify the states that are having the most successful recoveries, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 18 key metrics. The data set ranges from the share of the population fully vaccinated to the real GDP vs. pre-COVID levels.
