Educators were celebrated at a banquet at the Alabama Veterans Museum in Athens, where longtime foundation leader Marcia Day also received special recognition for decades of service.

• Bond denied for teen charged with making terrorist threats to Athens High School (whnt.com) — A Limestone County judge has ordered an 18-year-old held without bond after authorities say he made serious online threats targeting Athens High School students, staff, and officers. Investigators say the FBI tipped off Athens Police in June, prompting extra security at summer activities, and the case is now set for arraignment in April 2026.

• Athens native Phillip Rivers back in the NFL 5 years after retirement (hvilleblast.com) — An Athens native is suddenly back in the NFL: former All-Pro quarterback Phillip Rivers is reportedly joining the Indianapolis Colts’ practice squad more than five years after his last snap. Rivers, now 44, has been coaching high school football in Alabama and was called as the Colts deal with major quarterback injuries.

I’m looking for someone trustworthy to put them up for me. It’s a fairly easy job I just literally have no time to do it.
