Several Injured As American Airlines Plane Diverted To Alabama: Report
An American Airlines flight from Tampa to Nashville was diverted to Birmingham after experiencing turbulence, according to FOX 6.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Several people were taken to the hospital after an American Airlines flight was diverted to Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport on Wednesday, according to a report from FOX 6 Birmingham.
The crew of an Embraer 170 operated by Envoy Air and designated American Airlines flight 3609 declared an emergency because of severe turbulence, a spokesperson from the Federal Aviation Administration confirmed to Patch.
The plane, which was headed from Tampa to Nashville, landed safely in Birmingham around 3:20 p.m. The FAA is investigating the incident.

Upon landing, 10 people were evaluated for injuries and six were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the FOX 6 report.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport did not immediately return inquiries from Patch.
