27-Year-Old Man Killed In South Birmingham Shooting

A shooting early Monday morning on 4th Avenue South claimed the life of a 27-year-old man.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — A shooting in south Birmingham early Monday morning resulted in the death of a 27-year-old man. Tyrese Jamal Vault was shot and killed just after 1 a.m. in the 2400 block of 4th Avenue South.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said the preliminary investigation suggests that Vault was sitting in the passenger seat of a parked vehicle when he was shot.

Mauldin said a motive has not been established and police do not have any suspects in custody.
