Alabama’s Largest Hispanic Heritage Festival: What To Know

BIRMINGHAM, AL — In honor of Hispanic Heritage this September, Fiesta BHAM, Alabama’s largest Hispanic heritage festival, recently announced their 2021 event sponsors as well as details surrounding event activities being held at Linn Park on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m.

This is the festival’s 19th year and “A Pura Vida” (Full Life) is the theme for Fiesta 2021.

Since 2003, the annual event has celebrated and educated thousands of attendees from across the southeast about Alabama’s growing Hispanic community through art, music, dance, food and culture.

This year world-renowned Hispanic entertainers and artists including Los Rojos and La Sonora Dinamita will perform. Popular food vendors will feed the Fiesta 2021 attendees authentic Hispanic and Latin cuisine.

Proceeds from Fiesta BHAM 2021 will go to support scholarships for Hispanic students in the Alabama community. This is all due to the support of sponsors including faithful partners, including Coca-Cola Bottling Company UNITED, the City of Birmingham, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Jefferson County Department of Health, Abogados Centro Legal, Mi Pueblo Supermarket, The Latino News, La Jefa and Viva Health, among others.

“When most people are asked to use one word to describe the Latino culture, they typically say ‘colorful.’ That is a common thread that weaves itself through the many Spanish speaking countries of the world,” said Rebecca Garner, Fiesta President. “However, what many people perceive as one culture is in fact many. Latino people are proud of their countries, which are unique and rich in culture, and they are eager to share their customs and traditions with others.”

Attendees can journey through more than 20 represented cultures from Hispanic countries through music, dancing, performing arts, children’s activities, cultural education, nonprofit and health-related resources.

Attendees will enjoy different sponsored “villages,” including a family village, cultural village, community village, health and wellness village, as well as a variety of musical acts performing on the main stage presented by Coca-Cola.

Fiesta Bham 2021 Health and Wellness participants include BirthWell Partners Community Doula Project, Cahaba Medical Care, O'Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Children's of Alabama, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and AIDS Alabama who will be providing HIV testing inside their mobile unit.

COVID-19 testing and vaccines are available on-site as well.

Tickets to Fiesta BHAM 2021 are $10, children ages 12 and under are free. Event attendees are urged to buy tickets before the event at fiestabham.com. Donations to the Fiesta BHAM Scholarship Fund are encouraged at the event.
