East Birmingham Shooting Leaves 30-Year-Old Man Dead
Police say an argument escalated into gunfire Tuesday in east Birmingham, resulting in a fatal shooting.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A 30-year-old Birmingham man is dead after a shooting in east Birmingham Tuesday night. Demetrius John-Mario Young was shot and killed around 6:30 p.m. at residence in the 500 block of 83rd Place South.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department said the preliminary investigation suggests that Young was involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into gunfire.
He said no suspects are in custody, and if anyone has information pertaining to this case, they should contact the Biringham PD Homicide Unit at 205-254-1764.
