Police Standoff In Bessemer Ends In Arrest
A standoff at a Bessemer business ended early Tuesday morning after more than eight hours.
BESSEMER, AL — A standoff between a man and police in Bessemer lasted more than eight hours before the ordeal ended in an arrest. The standoff started as a burglary alarm call just before 8 p.m. Monday, according to ABC 33/40.
Police came to the Tractor Supply store off Academy Drive in Bessemer in response to the alarm. Police said they learned a man with a handgun was inside the store, and were finally able to get him to surrender just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Police have not said what the man's motive was for the standoff.
