- Birmingham Interstate 59/20 lane closures yesterday were caused by an overturned dump truck. At least one person was injured. The crash occurred near the Arkadelphia Road exit at 10:30 a.m. According to Birmingham Fire and Rescue Services, the crash involved two vehicles, including the dump truck. (WVTM13 Birmingham)
- There are many events to look forward to in Birmingham in January. Ukraine's Sleeping Beauty will be featured at the Alabama Theatre. The BrickFair Alabama LEGO Fan Expo will be held at the Forum Theater at the BJCC. A list of more events is available here. (Bham Now)
- Birmingham residents continue to petition to save the tennis courts at Birmingham's Crestwood Park. The city's park and recreation board has made a plan to replace one of the courts with additional pickleball courts with the uptick in pickleball players. Despite a poll indicating that 95 percent of respondents want to keep both tennis courts, a spokesperson for the parks and recreation board said the pickleball project will move forward. - The Birmingham Police Department needs help with a robbery investigation. Detectives request assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in the attached photos.
