Worker On I-59/20 Killed In Hit-And -Run
A road worker was killed in a hit-and-run incident on I-59/20 in Bessemer Thursday.
BESSEMER, AL — A Shelby County man was killed while part of a road crew working on I-59/20 in Bessemer Thursday. The victim has been identified as Patrick Todd Jackson, 58, of Sterrett, according to AL.com.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at mile marker 11. The driver fled the scene but was later taken into custody and is being held in the Jefferson County Jail. The 48-year-old suspect was booked early Friday on suspicion of DUI and reckless murder. Charges are pending.
