• Letters to Santa go digital (brewtonstandard.com) — Families in Brewton can now send kids’ letters to Santa digitally and still see them printed in The Brewton Standard’s Dec. 24 edition. Online letters must be submitted by Dec. 17 for publication, while handwritten notes are due Dec. 12 at the 407 St. Nicholas Avenue office dropbox.
   

• County voters approve tax for healthcare (brewtonstandard.com) — Escambia County voters, including those at Brewton and East Brewton precincts, narrowly approved a new 4-mil property tax dedicated to supporting local healthcare facilities. The tax is expected to raise about $1.8 million, appearing on 2026 bills with funds reaching the healthcare authority in early 2027.
