Margaret Ann Nix (hartselleenquirer.com) — Family and friends recently gathered in Cullman to honor the life of 90-year-old Margaret Ann (Snow) Nix, whose memorial service was held there before burial at Alabama National Cemetery. Remembered for her long marriage to Marine Sgt. James L. Nix and her work and volunteer service, she leaves behind children, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
   

4. Community rallies around Alabama crash victim (cbs42.com) — A 29-year-old mother from Waterloo was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 157 in Morgan County, while her 7-month-old daughter was rescued and is now in stable condition at Cullman Medical Center. The community has already raised over $10,000 through GoFundMe and is seeking donor breastmilk to support the baby’s ongoing care and needs.
   

5. 101 anglers set to compete on 2026 Progressive Bassmaster Elite Series (bassmaster.com) — Cullman bass pro Jordan Lee is officially in the 101-angler field for the 2026 Progressive Bassmaster Elite Series, which opens on Lake Guntersville in February. He’ll compete for six-figure prizes and Angler of the Year points as the tour travels across six states, with fans able to follow every weigh-in online and on streaming channels.
