• County voters approve tax for healthcare (brewtonstandard.com) — East Brewton voters helped narrowly pass a new 4-mil county property tax that will raise an estimated $1.8 million a year to support Escambia County hospitals and healthcare facilities. The tax will first appear on bills due December 2026, with funds expected to reach the healthcare authority in early 2027, buying time for longer-term fixes to the local medical system.
