• OLS staff member Maris Wimberly appointed to national Catechesis board (thehomewoodstar.com) — A longtime Our Lady of Sorrows educator in Homewood has been tapped to serve on the national board for the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, recognizing years of leadership in faith formation. Her work has made OLS the first Alabama school to fully integrate this Montessori-based religious program and expand it for older students.

• All-South Metro Football: Kaleb Carson named Offensive Player of the Year (thehomewoodstar.com) — Homewood football fans can celebrate quarterback Kaleb Carson sharing All-South Metro Offensive Player of the Year after a record-setting dual-threat season. Several other Patriots, from receivers to defensive backs and linemen, also earned first-team, second-team, and honorable-mention spots among the metro area’s top high school players.
