• Another Alabama city joins in lawsuit seeking bigger cut of state's online sales tax money (al.com) — Hoover has joined a growing group of Alabama cities suing the state over how online sales tax revenue is shared, arguing local governments and schools deserve a bigger cut. The lawsuit challenges the constitutionality of the Simplified Sellers Use Tax system, saying it diverts money away from communities where purchases actually occur, including Hoover.
