• Police say new Alabama law will help to stop porch pirates (cbs42.com) — Irondale police say a new Alabama law with tougher penalties for package theft will give them stronger tools to go after porch pirates in local neighborhoods. The law, in effect since October, sets escalating jail time and fines based on how many homes are targeted and whether thieves seek personal information. Residents are urged to report stolen packages immediately.
