• Alabama leaders target porch piracy with new law making it a felony (wvtm13.com) — A new Alabama law now makes stealing delivered packages a felony, and Leeds Police Chief Paul Irwin says his department is ready to use it to put repeat porch pirates behind bars. The law, already in effect, sets tougher penalties based on how many homes are hit and also targets people who knowingly buy stolen items, aiming to better protect residents’ deliveries statewide.
