- The Montgomery Police Department arrested seven suspects following a high-speed police chase on Saturday afternoon. The pursuit began when officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle at Coliseum Boulevard and Northern Boulevard, resulting in a collision on Eastern Boulevard and East Shirley Lane; no injuries were reported. The suspects reportedly abandoned the vehicle and took refuge in an unidentified business, leading to a lockdown, while authorities recovered multiple weapons. (WSFA 12)
- On Friday, Montgomery Whitewater experienced a wet and eventful first day of its grand opening as afternoon storms soaked the park — affecting not only rafting and kayaking but also scheduled concerts. However, the second day (Saturday) brought sunny skies for water-based activities, a morning yoga session, and the Splash 5K and Kids Fun Run. The park's future plans include zip lines, trails, and climbing walls leading to the Alabama River. Guests are advised to monitor weather forecasts before validating whitewater activity passes, as the facility does not offer refunds or rain checks. (Montgomery Advertiser)
- The family of Montgomery Officer Carlos Taylor held a viewing at E.G. Cummings Funeral Home on Sunday, with the presence of both Montgomery Police and Fire Departments. Despite suffering life-altering injuries on duty in 2017, Taylor lived for another six years and received recognition as the District Attorney's Officer of the Month before passing away on Jun. 30. His funeral took place yesterday, and flags across the city were lowered to half-staff. (WSFA 12)
