  1. According to the Montgomery County Health Department, AL Wings in Montgomery received a score of 69 after its latest health inspection. The wing restaurant, located on Atlanta Highway, will need to “clean up” after the inspection found several violations including moldy produce and raw chicken leaking into a case of lettuce. (WSFA)
  2. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) fined an American Airlines subsidiary $15,625 for a safety breach that led to the death of a ground crew worker at Montgomery Regional Airport. On Dec. 31, 2022, passenger service agent Courtney Edwards, 34, was “ingested” into a plane engine parked at the airport. According to OSHA, Piedmont Airlines was lacking effective training, clear and unambiguous communication on the ramp, and clear instructions from supervisors. (Subscription: AL.com)
  3. Four new stores are opening in Montgomery's Eastdale Mall this summer! Maggie’s Tacos opened on Jun. 15 and Royal Jewelry opened on Jun. 12., Spirit Halloween will open on Jul. 25 and sneakers and sporting apparel shop, Halftime, will open on Aug. 1. (WSFA)
