Child Abuse & Human Trafficking Survivor Brings House Calls Back to Alabama
(Montgomery)— Mrs. Tisha Dickson-Nickson was barely a teenager when she was sold as a sex slave by her mother to a local drug dealer who was more than 20 years older than she. Later in her life, she was faced with the “daunting task” of taking care of her mother while she suffered from life threatening illness. Mrs. Dickson-Nickson said, “By faith, I was given the strength to forgive her for all the wrong she had done to me and truly love her until her death.” Her survival is detailed in her book, Victim to Victory – My Journey from Sex Slavery to Freedom in Christ.
Founded by Tisha Dickson-Nickson in 2019, Doctors Making Home Visits, 1st, Inc. (DMHV1) has brought house calls back to Alabama. Her passion to take care of the elderly and to help others is so strong that up until now, she has been funding this project out of her own pocket. However, at this time, her non-profit is in need of $100,000 to continue delivering healthcare to those in need.
Mrs. Dickson-Nickson is usually a quiet woman, but when it comes to saving the lives of others, she would like to publicly announce her commitment to respond to the needs of thousands of disabled, elderly, and bed-bound individuals who do not have the resources to visit a doctor on a regular basis without placing an undue burden upon their families, especially those who live in rural areas. As a result, these chronically ill individuals only see a physician after they have experienced great distress and their illnesses have become an emergency incident. This delay in healthcare causes many patients to flood emergency medical departments as critically ill patients. However, with Doctors Making Home Visits 1st, Inc., their illnesses can be easily detected and treated in the comfort of their own home preventing catastrophic risks to their limbs and/or lives.
Mrs. Tisha Dickson-Nickson, is a Licensed Administrator that has earned a Master’s Degree of Business with a concentration in Healthcare Administration, a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Legal Studies, an Associate’s Degree of Science in Paralegal Studies, and has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry. As the needs of our community grows, Mrs. Tisha Dickson-Nickson seeks the support of Montgomery, Autauga, Macon and Elmore County citizens, business owners, organizations and churches willing to collaborate with Doctors Making Home Visits 1st, Inc. in an effort to obtain municipal, state and/or federal funding to help DMHV1 save more lives.
Doctors Making Home Visits 1st, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) public charity. If you are interested in assisting Mrs. Tisha Dickson-Nickson with Doctors Making Home Visits 1st, Inc., please visit her website at www.dmhv1.com and/or send her an email at tnickson@dmhv1.com.
