  1. The Montgomery County Community Cooperative District is currently facing two multi-million dollar lawsuits over their soon-to-open whitewater park. These lawsuits come after the organization allegedly did not pay for the construction work and one of the companies is seeking $4.2 million, according to court documents. Apparently, the district neglected to pay their construction company, MDG, over $3 million and a hearing for the case is scheduled for late August. (AL.com)
  2. While keeping his focus on public safety, Christopher Turner has announced he will be campaigning for a District 7 city council seat in Montgomery. The 55-year-old currently serves as the assistant chief clerk at the probate court for Montgomery County and says he wants to ensure public service is top of mind while on the council. He said he wants to lobby for cameras to be installed on power poles across the city so that the police department or other law enforcement entities would receive live updates on any crime-related issues. 3. Earlier this week, Montgomery's Police Department responded to a shooting that left one man injured on Carmichael Road. According to reports, police arrived on the scene after 11:20 a.m. and the individual who had been shot was immediately taken to the hospital to treat non-life-threatening injuries. Currently, police are still investigating the motive behind the incident and no further details have been released yet. (WAKA)
