Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:

  1. Former state Representative Will Dismukes' sentencing has been delayed until Jul. 14 due to multiple factors including his father's death. Voicemail messages from Dismukes's father, Bill Dismukes, to the Montgomery County district attorney’s office were used as key pieces of evidence that led to Dismukes' conviction of first-degree theft of property. One day after the conviction, Bill committed suicide. Dismukes faces two to 20 years in prison. (Alabama Political Reporter)
  2. Late Sunday night, Apr. 30, 29-year-old Arondi L. Stoudemire of Montgomery was struck and killed by a vehicle in Montgomery County. According to Alabama State Trooper Sgt. Jeremy Burkett, 43-year-old Constance D. Conrad-Jones of Enterprise crashed into Stoudemire, a pedestrian, on Interstate 65, about one mile north of Montgomery. (AL.com)
  3. Bates House of Turkey, the "most famous turkey house in Alabama," has opened a second location at 2938 Carter Hill Road in Montgomery! Locals can now eat the restaurant's famous roasted turkey sandwiches and turkey-and-dressing dinners closer to home in the Westminster Shopping Center at the intersection of Carter Hill Road and Zelda Road.
