- A high-speed pursuit that began in Autauga County ended in Montgomery when a 2021 GMC Yukon crashed into another vehicle on Perry Hill Road. The driver, identified as Theodric R. Collins, 35, was arrested and charged with felony eluding. Multiple law enforcement agencies, including ALEA and local sheriff's offices, were involved in the chase. (WSFA)
- U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell secures $21.8 million for Montgomery military installations. The funding includes $6.8 million for the 187th Fighter Wing Air National Guard unit and $15 million for a new gate at Maxwell Air Force Base. Sewell emphasizes the importance of providing resources to support service members and enhance security and traffic flow at the installations. (Alabama Daily News)
- A shooting incident in Montgomery left a man with serious injuries early Friday morning. Police responded to a report of the incident on Plaza Drive at approximately 4:00 a.m. The victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
