Here are the top three stories in Montgomery today:

  1. On Sunday night, May 14, a Montgomery house fire led to the death of a child and injured five firefighters. According to officials, three people were rescued from the home and taken to the hospital, where the juvenile died. Five firefighters were taken to the hospital, and three were later released after being treated for second-degree burns. The other two firefighters have severe burns and remain in "serious condition" in the hospital as of May 15. Montgomery Mayor Steve Reed said, "We offer our condolences to those affected by this tragic loss of a child, and we covet your prayers for our two firefighters as they face a long road ahead. The next few days will be critical to their recovery." (AP News)
