Here are the top three stories today in Montgomery:
- On Tuesday, May 9, a fourth suspect was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old in Montgomery on Sunday, May 7. Montgomery police have arrested and charged 21-year-old Rodney Moncrief, 19-year-old Benjamin Hamilton, 18-year-old Marcus Jones, and 21-year-old Liclifford Gilmer, all of Montgomery, with two counts of attempted murder and one count of capital murder. (WSFA)
- On Tuesday, May 9, the Mobile City Council unanimously voted to let more than 25,000 people vote on whether they want their neighborhoods to be annexed. If all four targeted areas approve annexation, the city will pass Montgomery’s population, making Mobile the second-largest city in Alabama. (Tuscaloosa News)
- Montgomery police are asking for the public's help in identifying two thieves who used a van to smash their way into a Montgomery business. According to Central Alabama Crime Stoppers, the two suspects stole from an undisclosed auto parts business in the 2600 bock of Eastern South Boulevard on Apr. 10. The two men were captured on surveillance video wearing dark clothing with face coverings and driving a white Ford van with a Montgomery license plate. (AL.com)
