1. Memphis man charged in fatal Montgomery traffic crash (montgomeryadvertiser.com) — A Montgomery driver has died after a three-vehicle crash Wednesday night at East Fairview Avenue and Norman Bridge Road, and a man from Memphis is now charged with reckless murder. Montgomery police say 54-year-old Frederick Hill suffered life-threatening injuries and later died at a local hospital. Investigators have not yet released details explaining why the out-of-state driver faces the murder charge.
   

2. YouthBuild Montgomery launches recruitment for GED and career training (waaytv.com) — Young adults in Montgomery ages 18 to 24 can now apply to YouthBuild Montgomery, which helps participants earn a GED while training in construction and advanced manufacturing. The program blends classroom work, hands-on learning, community service, and stipends, with support from the city’s Office of Violence Prevention to keep participants on positive, job-ready paths.
   

3. Montgomery Public Schools unveils new vision for the future (waka.com) — Montgomery Public Schools is detailing a new vision that would split Park Crossing High into two schools on one campus, add themed academies districtwide, and seek IB status for Wilson and Blount elementaries. The plan also includes turning Trenholm State’s Westside Campus into a regional workforce center and expanding virtual and dual-enrollment options to better connect students with high-demand careers.
   

4. Montgomery Public Schools unveils new strategic plan to expand magnet programs and career pathways (wsfa.com) — Montgomery Public Schools has rolled out “Vision 2026,” a sweeping plan to expand magnet programs, themed academies, and career pathways across the district, funded largely by existing city tax revenues. Leaders also approved acquiring Trenholm State’s west campus to create a workforce hub where students can earn certifications in high-demand fields, with many changes expected to begin by next school year.
   

5. High School Girls basketball Montgomery Academy vs. Montgomery Catholic (montgomeryadvertiser.com) — Montgomery Catholic’s girls basketball team rolled past Montgomery Academy 82–29 in a Thursday night matchup played at Montgomery Academy in Montgomery.
