  1. Central Alabama Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information on a fatal shooting that occurred on Sunday, May 14, in the 5500 block of Atlanta Highway in Montgomery. Montgomery police arrived on the scene to find 28-year-old Jarquis Willis critically wounded along with two men and a woman who were also shot. Willis was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. (AL.com)
  2. Montgomery Fire Rescue officials have reported five fires in the last four days, from Sunday, May 28, to Wednesday morning, May 31. There was only one injury reported in all five fires, a 41-year-old man who was taken to the hospital for secondary burns after he was rescued from inside a burning home on Carriage Brook Road on Sunday. The Bureau of Investigations is investigating all the fires. (WSFA)

  • On Tuesday, May 30, the family of an injured Montgomery firefighter asked the community to send the firefighter cards for his birthday and well wishes in his recovery. Deandre Hartman, one of five firefighters injured in a fatal house fire on Gilmer Avenue on May 14, celebrated his 35th birthday in the hospital.
