• ‘She was a wonderful young woman': Public intellectual Glenn Loury reflects on life of Brown University shooting victim Ella Cook (cbs42.com) — A 19-year-old Brown University student from Mountain Brook, Ella Cook, was one of two people killed in a campus shooting during an economics review session. Brown professor emeritus Glenn Loury remembered her warmly on his podcast, recalling meeting her family and her enthusiasm for his work. Cook’s funeral was held December 22 at Cathedral Church of the Advent in Birmingham.
