• Daniel Bray takes the helm of the Tuscaloosa County School System (tuscaloosanews.com) — Tuscaloosa County’s new school superintendent, Daniel Bray, is now leading a system that includes several Northport campuses, from Huntington Place Elementary to Tuscaloosa County High and the Northport Career Tech Annex. Photo highlights show Northport students learning welding, earning national character honors, and celebrating homecoming, underscoring how Bray’s leadership will shape classrooms, programs, and student life across the city. 
• Wyman L. Watson (November 5th, 1940 – December 10th, 2025) (tuscaloosathread.com) — Northport neighbors are mourning the passing of 85-year-old Wyman L. Watson, a longtime resident, Navy veteran, and respected local carpenter whose work and kindness touched many families. Services were held Monday, Dec. 15, at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, where friends, church families, and caregivers honored his legacy of faith, laughter, and devotion to his children and grandchildren.

- Good afternoon everyone I hope all is well with everyone.
Have a wonderful and blessed day @ Mandy Posey hru and your son doing; prayers goes out to you both (Nextdoor Downtown Northport) - About 12pm today ( 12/14) someone in an old red truck took the attached kid safety street sign from the front of our home at 66th Ave in Northport ( Buckhead subdivision ).
I tried to follow the truck but lost it in the neighborhood. If anyone has information or sees it in the neighborhood please contact me. Thanks. (Nextdoor Buckhead)
