All Birmingham Public Library (BPL) branches work hard to provide services and programs for the public. We'll be starting a new series of blogs soon that highlight some of the best programs happening across all BPL locations.  In the meantime, enjoy this round-up of youth programs that your children will enjoy, too!  We have programs for patrons of all ages, but I wanted to highlight family-friendly and youth programs that are happening this upcoming week. Mark your calendars for these events! Stop by the North Birmingham Regional Branch Library for the last Black History Month "Make It, Take It" program. Drop in any time during business hours for fun, educational activities!

More branches are offering the BPL's Engineer BHM program! This program intends to teach young patrons basic engineering and design concepts. In this program, students will build and code electric circuits. This will be first come first serve for students grade 6th—8th. There is a 12 person limit for this program.  Join Smithfield Branch Library for an anime film that is fun for all ages to watch! Enjoy treasured animated classics with other fans.   Central Library is opening the lab! The lab will be open and students will have access to either music lab equipment/programming or STEAM programming. Programs will vary by date and may include coding, circuits, 3D printing, or craft programs.  Each kid's yoga and mindfulness session begins with a story and then puts meaning and movement together in "read-along" yoga practices. Children and parents will leave with a list of poses and mantras to practice during the week. This program is intended for children ages three to eight, registration is required, and space is limited.  Follow the BPL on Facebook (Meta), Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn for more program updates, and check out our calendar to see all events!
