Columbiana Man Arrested on Murder Charge...

(COLUMBIANA, AL) On July 25, 2021 around 9:00PM the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Pine Street in Shelby, Alabama to a report of a possible prowler. Upon arrival, deputies located 56 year old David Yearber, the homeowner, unresponsive in the yard of the residence. Efforts to revive Yearber by first responders were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. A crime scene was immediately established and an investigation into the cause of death was commenced.

During the course of the investigation, Brandon Chase Bass was arrested and charged with Murder on September 29, 2021. Bass, 28 years of age from Columbiana, remains in the Shelby County Jail on a $300,000 bond.
