Arrest Made In Anchor Motel Shooting

Birmingham police have made an arrest in the Feb. 4 death of Edward Dee Stewart of Pinson.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Birmingham police have made an arrest in the shooting death of Edward Dee Stewart of Pinson. The shooting occurred at the Anchor Motel in Birmingham Feb. 4.

Sgt. Rod Mauldin of the Birmingham Police Department said 42-year-old James Harrison was arrested and charged with murder.

Stewart was shot in a room at the hotel, located in the 8400 block of 1st Ave. North in Birmingham, and was pronounced dead on the scene when officers arrived.

Harrison is in custody at the Jefferson County Jail with a $150,000 bond.
