🌱 Birmingham Teen Missing + COVID-19 Cases Rise

Hello, neighbors! Michael Seale here with your Tuesday issue of the Trussville Daily. Let's get you up-to-date on the news in and around town. A teenager from Birmingham has been reported missing. She was last seen in the UAB area. Also, just when we thought perhaps COVID-19 was inching away from us, the Alabama Department of Public Health reported record numbers of new cases of the virus in the state Monday. But doctors have one reason to feel optimistic. Read more below.


Here are the top stories today in Trussville:

  1. As I mentioned above, Alabama reported a daily average of more than 6,000 COVID-19 cases Monday, but medical officials remain optimistic because hospitalizations in the state have not reached anywhere near the numbers seen in 2021. (Birmingham Patch)
  2. A 17-year-old Birmingham girl has been reported missing, and is thought to possibly be in Atlanta area. (WBRC)
  3. Former businessman and current president of King's Home Lew Burdette announced Tuesday he is running for governor of Alabama. (Hoover Patch)
  4. St. Clair County Commission Chairman Paul Manning announced he will seek a third consecutive term. (Trussville Tribune)
  5. A South Carolina woman was identified as the person struck and killed in a hit-and-run on I-59 in Irondale Sunday. (AL.com)
