• $30k grant funds Trussville 900ft sidewalk improving pedestrian access (abc3340.com) — A new 900-foot sidewalk along Cherokee Drive in Trussville now links neighborhood streets to Cahaba Elementary, the Cahaba River trails, and the Red Rock Trail, giving walkers and students a much safer route. Sparked by a resident’s near-miss with traffic and funded by a $30,000 grant, the project is part of a broader plan to expand pedestrian connectivity across Trussville.
