Center Point Moves To Class 6A In AHSAA Realignment
The Alabama High School Athletic Association realigned school classifications for the 2022 season.
BIRMINGHAM, AL β The Alabama High School Athletic Association Tuesday released its new classifications for Alabama schools, which includes moving Center Point High School to Class 6A. The AHSAA reclassifies every two years by enrollment.
Center Point will move up from Class 5A to 6A in football, and will join Region 6, which now looks like this:
- Center Point
- Clay-Chalkville
- Huffman
- Oxford
- Pell City
- Pinson Valley
- Shades Valley
Hewitt-Trussville stayed in Class 7A Region 3, which welcomed 7A newcomer Chelsea High School. Region 3 now includes:

Winter sports alignments and spring sports alignments will be announced at the conclusion of those sports championships.
