Attendees are asked to provide a $25 donation to enjoy soup, bread, and water, while enjoying live entertainment and choosing a hand-crafted bowl made by local artisans and University of Alabama ceramics students.

For an additional $5, attendees can also purchase a bowl of soup "to go."

Proceeds from the event will benefit Table of Grace, a market-style pantry that serves nearly 2,500 residents each month. One hundred percent of the event’s proceeds will go directly to the pantry.

“This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we are excited about how the support raised through Empty Bowls will allow us to continue the fight against food insecurity in Tuscaloosa,” Table of Grace Executive Director Emily Altman said.

Empty Bowls events have been held nationwide since 1990, with attendees keeping a ceramic bowl as a reminder of hunger.

More than 200 bowls for this year’s event were donated by The University of Alabama’s Art & Art History Department and Red Dog Potters.

Tickets will be available at the door and donations can also be made online here.
