Shelton State also said it employs 577 full-time and part-time faculty and staff.

“The economic and educational impact Shelton State has in West Alabama is undeniable,” Shelton State President Jonathan Koh said. “The region is better and stronger because our students learn, live, and eventually work right in here in Tuscaloosa and Bibb Counties, in high-earning careers with some of our top industry partners in automotive, healthcare, and welding. We are proud to be Tuscaloosa’s community college and honored to be among the other colleges in the Alabama Community College System."

The report released by the ACCS also said Alabama’s community colleges supported 114,043 jobs in Alabama during the last fiscal year — roughly the equivalent of one in every 26 Alabama jobs.
