Alabama Blues Project's Annual Fundraiser Set For Feb. 23

The annual fundraiser is set for Feb. 23 and consists of donated art and crafts from local artists that will be auctioned off.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The Arts Council of Tuscaloosa is currently hosting a preview exhibit of works featured in the Alabama Blues Project’s 14th annual Evening of Art and Blues through Feb. 23.

The exhibit, which corresponds with the Blues Project’s annual fundraiser, β€œHarlem Nights,” is at the Arts Council Gallery at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center in downtown Tuscaloosa.

The Arts Council says the annual fundraiser is set for Feb. 23 and consists of donated art and crafts from local artists that will be auctioned off.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Alabama Blues Project, with the event lasting from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.

The Arts Council says the Alabama Blues Project will celebrate some of the blues' "fruits," along with attendees enjoying more current hits performed by AJ and the Midnight Soulz.

Alabama Blues Productions will also perform during the fundraiser.

The Arts Council says the event will feature hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, silent auction, and live auction with art and gifts from local artists and businesses will round out the evening.

Tickets for the fundraiser are priced at $35 for adults, $10 for children ages 8 to 17, and free for kids ages 7 and under.

Gallery hours at the Dinah Washington Cultural Arts Center are weekdays 9 a.m. until noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
