Aliceville Woman Killed, Child Injured In Pickens County Crash

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating a fatal crash in Pickens County Saturday that resulted in the death of an Aliceville woman.

ALEA says the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 7:25 p.m. Saturday, March 29, when a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Ariana C. Lang, 24, left the roadway and struck a ditch, before striking a brick culvert.

Investigators said Lang was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, while a two-year-old passenger was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

ALEA said the crash occurred on Franconia Road, approximately one mile north of Aliceville in Pickens County.

The cause of the fatal crash remains under investigation.
