Alabama Rural Health Association Names Rep. Ron Bolton Legislator Of The Year

The Alabama Rural Health Association (ARHA) on Thursday honored State Rep. Ron Bolton with its 2025 Legislator of the Year award.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Rural Health Association (ARHA) on Thursday honored State Rep. Ron Bolton with its 2025 Legislator of the Year award.

Bolton, a Republican from Northport, was recognized for his "unwavering commitment to improving rural health care access and outcomes across Alabama."

Indeed, Bolton has been a vocal advocate for policies to better support rural hospitals, expand
health care workforce development and enhance telehealth services. He has also been one of the most involved policymakers in addressing health care offerings and emergency services in Pickens County.

“Rural health is the backbone of Alabama’s well-being, yet too many of our communities continue to face barriers to essential care,” ARHA Board President David L. Albright said. “Representative Bolton’s dedication to rural health policy has made a tangible impact, helping to strengthen the infrastructure that serves our rural populations. We are proud to recognize his contributions with this award.”

Bolton was presented the award during the 2025 Alabama Rural Health Conference, where health care
leaders, policymakers, and advocates gathered to discuss innovative solutions for improving rural
health care in the state.
